Man Of Steel Poll

Hey maniacs , saw Man of Steel this Sunday and it was simply amazing! Found this poll of cbr and i thought that i'd share it . Gonna review this film soon but guys in simple words, if you haven't seen the film , GO, NOW! I was emotionally connected to this film and wow did it make my heart feel warm. I know the rotten tomatoes stuff and all that but this film has got to be the most under rated film ever. The critics aren't giving it the treatment it deserves , they want a film with humour, when are they going to understand that this isn't about that. This film was a sci fi - drama. Anyways , my advice , go and watch it , these critics are still stuck in the 1970's. This film is as realistic as it gets. And i am not saying this cause i'm a dc fan , i know a good film when i see it.
                                                                                                                                     -Dr.DC

Star Trek Into The Darkness Review

Sorry folks, haven't posted in a while. Dr.Marvel and I have been busy with school stuff  and there's gonna be a rating system for films now.
Coming to the review, did i like "Into the Darkness"?  Hell yeah i did! One of the best films i've seen this summer. The plot was mind blowing , had no complaints , it had no major loopholes or anything like that , and it was well paced. Oh yeah and the twists in the film were mind blowing , one major twist being the best, people who have seen the film will know what I'm talking about. Don't wanna ruin the film for the others and i liked how they showed Spock's human side more.Good job writers!
The acting department  was ACE! I repeat ACE! Benedict Cumberbatch stole the show , sorry Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. They were good too , but HOLY EFFIN SHIT! Cumberbatch knew  how to be a badass. The rest of the crew were pretty good too. Simon Pegg had amazing comic timing , Zoe Saldana  acted pretty well and yeah the rest too. No complaints , they gave their best.
The action, my jaw just dropped off. Everything looked so real, the effects and everything , sadly i can't say the same for the game , haha. People who like explosions and stuff, you're gonna love this film.
Now, the direction and execution , here's the only problem , they wrapped it up too fast , they could've made it longer, i'd have no problem with that, the end was just quick. That's the only problem in the entire film , other than that, they nailed it!
The dialogues were pretty good too , especially one scene where spock shouts out something and i'm not gonna give it out cause it's a spoiler.  Isn't exactly a hude dialogue but yeah , that was like my favourite scene in the entire film.
So, to end it , was it better than the first part? sadly, no. better than iron man3? yes , in all ways , comedy, action, acting , plot and everything else. Will i watch it again? I'd love to! and the last Q, Do i want a sequel? YUSH! ALL THE WAY!

Rating -  the medicine was SWEET! ( sweet - good , bland - ehhh, it was okay , bitter - no, just no!)
Stay tuned for more reviews folks. Here's a trailer for first aid , wanna be completely cured? watch the film as soon as possible!
                                                                                                                       -Dr.DC

Movies I'm Excited About- Man Of Steel

Similar to the star trek franchise , i used to hate superman too . Not only the films , but the character itself . The story of superman is one of the best but superman himself was just plain dumb. When they made superman , they made him so god like that they had to give him a weakness, the dumb green rock, kryptonite . Let's start with the things i hated about superman , the one curl of hair down his head , the stupid red underwear , his disguise , the entire costume actually , and at last kryptonite . Then new man of steel eliminated all the things i hated about superman . I simply love the new costume , no kryptonite and superman isn't undefeatable and Henry Cavill looks kickass as The Man of Steel ( i prefer this to superman ) . He's got enough Muscles to give Superman that bulky look which he is supposed to have . I've seen all three trailers and i loved each and every one of 'em, especially trailer 2 , not gonna lie it almost made me cry and gave me goosebumps . Superman deserves a darker tone , he's an alien for god's sake and he should be treated that way and in the old films he wasn't . The Man of Steel is a superman film which we not only need at the moment but also deserve ( yeah i quoted the dark knight) . God bless Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan and David Goyer. I seriously recommend  Man of Steel . Oh yeah, and i totally forgot about the cape , i'm totally in love with it  , Zack Snyder utilized CGI in a wonderful way

                                                                                                                                           -Dr.DC

First time I'm gonna post two trailers cause both of these are just two of the best film trailers I've seen to date.

Movies I'm excited for - Star Trek Into Darkness

I was always a star wars fan .When  I first saw a star trek film , it was on cartoon network sometime around midnight  and as I watched ,this is what kept running in my mind , “This is the most boring film I’ve ever seen” . It was one of the old star trek films. When the new one i.e the 2009 one released, I didn’t want to watch it and I didn’t for a really long time. When it aired on tv, I just changed the channel. But then a friend advised me to watch the film and said that it was awesome but I still didn’t watch it for a really long time. A few weeks ago, I ran out of films to watch and so I remembered what my friend said and I downloaded the film. I saw the film next day and I was awestruck, the film was effing amazing, good plot , good comedy , good performances , great graphics and so on . I totally forgot about star wars after I saw it.   Then, I heard that there’s gonna be a sequel releasing and I was actually excited and I immediately saw the trailer and I liked it very much. Now, I can’t wait for the film to release. The trailer indicates that the film’s gonna be dark just as the title says (Star Trek – Into the Darkness) and I personally prefer darker films. So all in all, hope the film is as good as or even better than Star Trek 2009. The best way to end this post would be by saying ,” Live long and prosper.”

Latest Update : Avengers 2

At a recent event Joss Whedon let slip some important news about Avengers 2.

When asked why The Avengers should worry about Thanos, Whedon teased this:

"Well, Thanos is more powerful. He is so powerful, he is not someone you can just trot out and punch him. Like he did in the comics, you want him to be threading through the universe and to save the big finale for the big finale. He is definitely a part of what I've got going on. The thing about the Avengers is that they are very powerful, but they're not very stable. So, there will definitely be some people that will shake them up in the next installment. I’ve got these two characters, two of my favorite characters from the comic book, a brother-sister act. They’re in the movie."

Whoa.

If this is true, and not an instance of Whedon screwing with us, then all signs point to the inclusion of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch – a brother/sister duo long associated with the Avengers.
Yes, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are mutants but they have been associated more with The Avengers than with the X-Men.
Does this mean there might be a X-Men/Avengers joint venture in the future?  Only time will tell.

                                                                                                                          Dr. Marvel. Over and out.

Upcoming Movie Update - Thor 2 : The Dark World

Thor 2 : The Dark World is coming this November. With the sequel to the not-so-great Thor, and the hits of Avengers and Iron Man 3, there are high expectations not only from Thor 2 but also all the other upcoming movies based on superheroes.
Thor 2, set one year after The Avengers, Thor battles to save all the Nine Realms from a mysterious enemy older than the universe itself.
Rumours spilled by an unspecified crew member are as follows -

“Thor becomes reunited with Jane who becomes possessed by a Dark Spirit, which is connected with the Dark Elves; a race the Asgardians have fallen out with many years beforehand The Dark Elves attack Asgard, and they take a huge hit. So Thor has to rebuild Asgard by putting together an army to go and take the battle to the Dark Elves and defeat them. But the only way he can do this is – he needs to cross over to the Dark World, and the only person who has access to the dark side of Asgard is his old brother Loki, who at the beginning of the film is locked up in prison.

“So what happens is Thor basically has to negotiate this truce with Loki, and he goes on this great trek with Jane, all three of them. They go to this far side of Asgard, where they train and assemble an army to go and attack the Dark Elves’ world.”

This isn't confirmed yet, but we know that there are Dark Elves in Thor 2 with Malekith the Accursed leading them.

The main cast is as follow -
Chris Hemsworth as Thor, The crown prince of Asgard.

Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Thor's love interest.

Tom Hiddleston as Loki, who needs no introduction.

Stellan Skarsgard as Dr. Erik Selvig, Jane Foster's mentor.

Idris Elba as Heimdall, the all seeing guard to the Bifrost.

Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed, leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim

We also see the return of Odin, Frigga, The Warriors Three and Sif.

That's it from me for now. Keep coming back for more updates.

Everything that seems wrong but actually isn't - The Dark Knight Rises

1. Why did Gordon still have the speech in his jacket when Bane caught him?
Come on guys , this is a dumb question. How many times have we forgotten keys in our jacket?  And it's not like we wash our jackets every day to notice that we had forgotten something in them. We're so lazy that we just throw the jacket when we go home and put it on again before we leave the next day.

2. Why did all of Gotham's cops go underground for Bane?
Deputy commissioner Peter Folley  didn't listen to Gordon and now entire of Gotham was in danger. Gordon knew that an army was there underground and he knew that serious action was needed to be taken so he told Folley to send down the entire force . Did you hear me? An entire "army"! So you're expecting Gordon to just send it 10 officers?  The entire police force was required and Gordon did that . I would do it too if i were in his place.

3.How did both Batman and Bruce Wayne go missing and no one could connect them?
If anyone asks this question , they did not see the dark knight rises with your whole heart and mind . They clearly mentioned that batman went missing after Dent died and Wayne went missing  after the nuclear project was a failure.

4. How did Bruce Wayne get back from prison to Gotham?
     Okay , this was loophole.

5. How did Bruce Wayne get across the bridge to Gotham without anyone noticing?
In the dark knight , when Harvey asks Bruce ," Is Wayne manor in city limits?" to which Bruce sarcastically says "The Palisades? Sure" . This means that it wasn't  and then , in the dark knight rises  when Bruce returns back to Gotham and contacts Fox , Fox asks him sarcastically, "Do you remember where you parked the Bat?" and then they show the bat on top of a tower . The last time Batman parked the Bat was in his Manor , and that is outside city limits . He could reach his home easily without being spotted and then take the bat to get into Gotham and the Bat has a special ability to not get tracked by heat signatures and then he  parked it on top of the tower and covered it . Period

6.How does John Blake know that Bruce Wayne is Batman ?
Both of them orphans ,  suffer pain from the inside but pretend to be happy on the outside . Blake saw that it in Bruce and he saw the same in Batman. And as people say , a man can be recognized by his eyes if you pay close attention.

7. Where is the Joker in The Dark Knight Rises?
This is the dumbest question that i have come across , NO ONE I repeat , NO ONE can replace Heath Ledger in Nolan's batman trilogy , you hear me?  What did you expect , his ghost to come back and play the joker in TDKR? The Joker's still alive , they just didn't show him cause they didn't want another actor to portray the role.

8. How Did Batman escape the nuclear blast?
This was another loophole , they show 5 seconds on the clock but they don't show batman for another 10 seconds ( yeah , i kept track of time) . But even with 15 seconds , there was no way he could have escaped unless the Bat could cover 6 miles in 15 seconds but the speed of the Bat remains unknown so let's just consider this a loophole.

9. Is John Blake the new Batman or Robin?
Another stupid question , he's not robin guys . As Christopher Nolan's brother ( the co writer) said, the "Robin" part was just a wink , throughout the film , Blake acted as Batman's sidekick and anyways , Batman was searching for a successor and now he found a worthy one. He can be the next Batman or Nightwing or anything else , I just don't give a F***. He's Gotham's next guardian and that's all that matters .

10. What does Bane's mask do?
It actually supplies a kinda serum which keeps him alive. Bane's origin was actually shot but was deleted because the film crosses 3 hours . People already have complaints about the length of the film and 3 hours
would make it worse . There are rumors that there's gonna be a director's cut with all the deleted scenes , let's hope that the rumor is true.

What they could have done to fix the film?
They should have made a two part film if you ask me. If they did , they could have covered the entire script without any questions being asked .
                                                                                                                                                     -Dr.DC

WATCH THIS TRAILER AGAIN! and then .....you have my permission to leave.

Review of the Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

So, firstly, what I wanna start off by is giving you guys a review of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
MCU began with the release of the first Iron Man in 2008. Iron Man just placed the basics of the back story of Tony Stark and his kidnapping, The Ten Rings, and The Iron Man. The movie was one of the very few movies based on comic heroes other than Superman and Batman. Iron Man was critically acclaimed. And it pretty much set everybody for the one of the best series of movies.  With Iron Man, MCU also started a trend of adding post-credit scenes, which created suspense and excitement for forthcoming movies. In Iron Man, we see Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury and a pretty subtle hint for something bigger to come.

Later in 2008 also released The Incredible Hulk. The second Hulk movie with a different actor portraying Banner/Hulk, it was better than the first, but did not do as well as Iron Man. We see another post-credit scene, with Tony Stark talking to General Ross. The good thing about the TIH was that it laid a pretty decent idea about the Hulk and his powers and popularized The Abomination.

Immediately following the successful release of Iron Man in 2008, Marvel Studios announced it was developing a sequel. Iron Man 2 came out in 2010, and people content with Iron Man were expecting something better. And it delivered. Iron Man 2 introduced four important characters of MCU – Nick Fury, Black Widow, Phil Coulson and Col. James Rhodes/War Machine. It introduced S.H.I.E.L.D and new suits and a new villain – Whiplash. And again another post-credits scene, made comic fans around the world go crazy with it hinting towards the arrival of Thor.

Thor released in 2011, with excitement at its peak because of the introduction of another superhero in MCU. Thor couldn't live up to the expectations, but gave us the general idea about Asgrad, Thor, Heimdall, and most important of all, Loki. Thor’s story line couldn't live up to the hype but it did what it was needed to do, give the audience the general idea of Thor and Loki, and set them up for the “Bigger” picture. Another post-creds scene shows Erik Selvig talking to Nick Fury about the Cosmic Cube and Loki looking on. It also introduced Hawkeye/Clint Barton with one scene.

2011 got the introduction of yet another superhero, The first Avenger, Captain America. We get to know Steve Rogers from his early days, met Howard Stark and The Red Skull, and see the familiar Cosmic Cube come back, with a bigger role to play. Nothing much for the “bigger picture” in this movie. Just the intro to Captain America, his defrosting and the Cosmic Cube. Something important for the future from this movie though, is the introduction of Bucky Barnes who we will see in the sequel. I’ll update you about that later on.

And in 2012, was released the largest joint-venture of superheroes till date, comprising of 7 heroes, 4 of whom have their own series. The Avengers made every comic fan and non-comic fan go nuts with excitement. What we got to know about every hero was used in this movie and the return of Loki was just a cherry on top of the cake. Mark Ruffalo became the third person to portray the Hulk and did it better than his predecessors.  Many people had a few problems with The Avengers, a few “mistakes”, but I have the explanation to them. More on that, later on. With the Avengers ended Phase 1 : Avengers Assembled of MCU.
What Phase 1 basically did was lay down the important information about every superhero for the upcoming Phase 2. The biggest post-credits scene was shown in The Avengers with Thanos being shown. This gave people the idea that more is to come. Thus ended Phase 1. And thus, ends my first post.

                                                                                                                        Dr. Marvel. Over and Out.

Iron Man 3 Review

So, as all you guys know , iron man 3 is out in theatres in most countries right now .I saw the film yesterday .  Most people asked me this as soon as i told them , " Did you like it?" and my answer to them was F*** YEAH! Excuse me for my language but there's no other way to say it . This film was one of the best marvel films ever . It was probably the darkest  marvel films yet .  I didn't have much expectations for iron man 3 after i saw iron man 2 but what i saw , i liked. ME GUSTA IRON MAN ! . And yeah , don't worry guys, no spoilers ahead .
Let's talk about the plot first , it was an ace plot . It was well written unlike iron man 2 or the avengers. The pace was just right , the script kept me intact , builds up a good suspense and an amazing twist. Found no loop holes, wasn't a drag . All in all it was good .
Performances now . As always Robert Downey Jr was  Robert Downey Jr , no complaints. Gwyneth Paltrow was okay , not an eye catching performance but not bad either . Ben Kingsley , he's the man! He played his character marvellously , maybe even better than Downey Jr  , he was the soul of iron man 3.
Don Cheadle again was okay . Guy Pearce , this guy , i just have no words for him . AMAZING JUST AMAZING!  He was ace . Period!
Coming to the dialogues now , this was a let down . Not many memorable dialogues and sad to say , most of tony stark's jokes as one of the veterans said was " cheesy one liners" . I laughed only at maybe one or two jokes of his . I'm not saying that all the dialogues were bad but its like i don't remember then right now .They didn't have that much of an effect on me. In this category , i'm afraid iron man 3 failed.
The action was perfect , lottsa booms, zaps and zooms , haha. The graphics were pretty good as well , not something which you haven't seen before but still good.
So, to conclude , i recommend you watch this movie in theatres ASAP! You'll enjoy it. Good plot , good performances , good pace , good suspense, good graphics, good action and a good twist , only bad part was the dialogues. Was it better than iron man 2? Yes .Better than the avengers? Yes . Better than Iron man 1? No, i'm afraid . There was something about part 1 which iron man 3 couldn't reach upto in my opinion.
So, that was my review , comic maniacs! This is Dr.DC signing off!
                                                                                                                      - Dr.DC

How can a review be complete without a trailer ?

Dr. Marvel's Intro.

Hey there fellow comic maniacs. I'm Dr. Marvel. I'm here to give your dose of everything movies and comic. Dr. DC being a DC fan, it is quite clear I'm a Marvel Guy. But, I believe every superhero has his equivalent in the opposite universe. My favourite heroes are Iron Man and Batman. Both rich, genius and completely and totally opposite. But now, who doesn't like Batman? My favourite villains include Joker, because of his madness, Darth Vader (Yes, I love Star Wars) and Magneto. I follow quite other things too, like Star Trek, Doctor Who and Star Wars, as you have seen above. So, you might get posts about them too.
So, the blog is something, according to us, like a treatment to all you Comicaholics. You will get news, reviews, previews, answers to general questions which get asked after Fantasy/Sci-Fi movies and a whole lot of other things. So keep checking up with us, and keep coming back for more. Dr. Marvel, Over and Out.

Dr.DC's Intro

Hey comic maniacs! This is Dr.DC aka Nikhil .Dr.Marvel and I are gonna help give medicine to satisfy your needs . As you can see , i'm a dc fan but its not like i hate marvel, i just prefer dc more . Batman's my favourite superhero, i've been in love with him since i was a child . My first batman film was "Batman and Robin" and i saw it when i was like 3 or 4 i guess . I loved it at that time, now  realize that it was one of the worst movies ever made but on the other hand , "The Dark Knight" was one of the best movies ever made so, it makes up for everything . Just like Batman's my fav superhero , Joker's my fav villain . Let's face it , Batman and Joker , they were meant to be . I recently saw the dark knight trilogy back to back for about 7 hours ( yeah , i'm jobless :P).  So , coming back to the blog , my friend and i made this blog to share our theories about stuff , not necessarily related to comics but yeah , mostly about them . We're gonna be posting reviews , theories , answer questions , etc. So, hope you guys like our blog .Peace out

                                                                                                                                                      - Dr.DC
